We spent the afternoon with a great group of people from the Columbia County Garden Club in Oregon. We heard presentations on how their garbage and recycling was handled as well as a presentation on low impact delvelopment and its positive effect on the environment. SP Recycling was there to talk about what happens to the recycling once it leaves the curb. One great distinction we worked through in the meeting was the difference in an item being recyclable or and item allowable in the single stream recycling. Almost anything can be recycled in some form or fashion, but just because it is recyclable doesn't mean that it is allowable in the single stream program.
